On May 14th, over 300 people joined in the Fashion Capital of the World to support Village Care of New York’s annual Tulips & Pansies – The Headdress Affair, a runway show which brings together prestigious fashion and floral designers to create elaborate headdresses. Held at The Edison Ballroom, this springtime floral fete raises funds and awareness for Village Care’s HIV/AIDS Services and the designers outdid themselves once again!
In attendance were the Tulips & Pansies Event Chairs, USA Weekend Editor, Jack Curry and People’s Revolution Founder, Kelly Cutrone. The show kicked off with a welcome and video on The Momentum Project, the newest addition to Village Care’s programs. Performer, Frank DeCaro got the crowd ready to party for Event host, James Aguiar. Headdress competition judges included fashionista, Patrick McDonald; singer, Peaches; stylist, Lauren Rae Levy; music executive, Arthur Baker and famous photographer, Mick Rock.
Sponsors of Tulips & Pansies include Avanti Health Care Services, Bank of America, The Gottlieb Family, Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers, CCLC Solutions, Inc., Evercare, Gallagher Benefit Services, Hirschen Singer & Epstein LLP, Marco Martelli Associates and Professional Placement Associates Inc.
Special thanks to the M.A.C. make-up artists who kicked up all the designer looks with their festive and sassy make-up! And to Stephen Szklarski and Francis Timoney for creating the Momentum video.
