During the next few weeks, while Congress is in recess, senators and representatives will be hearing from many constituencies about health care reform. It is important that our voice -- that of Village Care particularly, and the long-term care field in general -- be heard.
This is a critical time.
Please take a moment to contact our elected representatives in the House and the U.S. Senate to help us express our concerns about the impact of health care reform on long-term care. We need to let them know that the needs of older adults, persons living with HIV/AIDS and others with disabilities who need nursing home care, home care and other services, should not have their care threatened by a reform plan that looks for cost-containment in the Medicare program, and which fails to include new approaches to ensure access to long-term care.
